Palmtech wins the sticker-price comparison

Palmtech is $50 per user per month, or $500 per user per year. Binsr Standard is $75 per inspector, or $70 billed annually, and Binsr Pro is the same $75 base plus $4 per completed inspection.

There is no need to dance around that. If the entire buying decision is the smallest monthly subscription, Palmtech wins by $25. But that is not the same as winning on value, and it is worth noting Palmtech is not actually the cheapest credible platform on the market. EZ Home Inspection Software is $199 per year for desktop or $299 for desktop plus mobile, which works out around $25 per month. If price is genuinely the only criterion, Palmtech is not even the right answer.

Binsr Standard includes booking automation, scheduling, agreements, payments, client and agent dashboards, Lite CRM, business dashboards, real-time collaboration and AI-powered data migration alongside the report writer. Non-inspecting office staff are free, so schedulers and bookkeepers cost nothing.

Binsr Pro then adds five AI capabilities: AI Voice and Photo Quick Add, AI Image Annotations, AI Galleries, AI Instructions and Combine Comments with AI, plus Advanced Automations and Custom Business Reporting.

The comparison is two AI features against five, and a report writer against a platform. Whether that is worth $25 depends entirely on what else you are currently paying for.

The field-workflow difference

The most important difference is not the feature count. It is where the work happens.

Palmtech's defect detector works on photos you have already taken, which is genuinely useful. Binsr is designed around documenting the inspection while you are inspecting, using voice, photos and fast mobile workflows so the report is substantially further along before you leave the property. The Report Builder works offline, so poor connectivity in a basement or a rural property does not stop you.

If you already have a workflow you love and simply need a competent report writer, paying extra for broader capability may not make sense. If you are trying to stop coming home to write reports and reduce the number of separate tools you run, that is exactly what the additional cost is buying.

Think in total stack cost, not subscription cost

A $50 report writer plus separate scheduling, CRM, website and payment tools can easily cost more than a broader platform. Add a $50 scheduling tool and a $30 CRM and you are past $130 before anyone has written a report.

Conversely, if you already handle those functions cheaply and successfully, or you are a solo inspector who books by phone and invoices by email, Palmtech can remain the lower-cost option and stay that way.

The right comparison is your current total software stack against Binsr, not Palmtech's headline rate against Binsr's. Compare the platforms side by side if you are still shortlisting.

What inspectors actually pay for Binsr

List price is $75, and most customers do not pay it. Founding Inspector pricing takes 10% off for life for our first 500 customers. InterNACHI members take $5 per inspector per month off. Veterans, or companies that employ one, take another $5. All three stack, down to $57.50.

The average across everyone who claims at least one discount is $63 per inspector per month. At $63 the gap against Palmtech's $50 narrows to $13, which is a different conversation than $25.

Five things to test before you commit to either

1. Go somewhere with no signal. A crawlspace or a basement, not airplane mode in your kitchen. Take twenty photos, write three findings, come back up and confirm every one of them synced. Offline behaviour is where inspection software quietly fails, and it never shows up on a feature grid.

2. Speak one complete finding and read what comes back. Say the location, the condition and the recommendation out loud, the way you would to a client. If what lands in the report is a transcript you still have to shape into a comment, that is voice to text, which is a different and much older thing than voice to report.

3. Import your real comment library. Not the sample template that ships with the trial. Your library, ten years deep, with all the odd formatting in it. If a vendor cannot do that before you pay, you have learned something important about what migration will feel like later.

4. Time it door to delivery. Minutes from locking the front door to the client having the report in hand. Not writing time, total time. That single number decides more about your week than any feature on either list.

5. Send a finished report to an agent you trust. Ask whether it beats what they get from other inspectors. Believe their answer over your own impression, because they read fifty of these a month and you read your own.

Do all five at the end of a long day on a difficult property. That is the condition the software actually has to work in, and it is not the condition anyone demos in.
